Sensing a need for a role in the community, Safety-Flo boardmembers voted to create an outreach program in September, 1993. Ron Holton, then a junior quality associate, was charged with the task.

Since then, Ron has become something of a community liason, hosting the popular “Ask Ron” weekly call-in program on WKHH, Otisburg’s local AM radio station. On the program, Ron fields questions about company projects, indemnities, and environmental mitigation, to name a few popular subjects.

As the public face of Safety-Flo, Ron has developed quite a following. Upon leaving the WKHH studio in downtown Otisburg, he often faces enthusiastic groups of town residents wishing become involved in company decisions.

“Otisburg should be proud of the participatory nature of its citizens,” said Ron, who often brings along an associate or two from product testing to help him get to his car.
