Our Generous New Employee Health Plan

Actual health care is often performed

Safety-Flo has contracted Spemtech, Inc. to provide employee health plan services. The following is reprinted from the employee health pamphlet to be distributed by mail later this month.

Spemtech Managed Care – Liberty Plus Plan

At Spemtech, we Manage your Care®. Forget about the uncertainty, waiting periods, and options offered by competing health care plans. With Spemtech, the moment you think you have a medical situation you call our centrally located hotline in Lake, Kansas, where a trained accountant questions you on your pathology, helps you gauge the amount of pain you’re in, and can often send you one of our informative medi-pamphlets describing an effective home remedy, saving you a lengthy trip to one of our centrally located Preferred Providers.

Should you find yourself in absolute need of actual medical attention, Spemcare will gladly refer you to one of our trained travel agents so you can arrange your trip in the most expedient manner possible. While occasionally appointment backlogs do occur (especially during traditional heavy medical event periods, such as holidays and chemical spills) our trained staff will endeavor to fit you in as soon as possible, so you can regain your health in the most effective, permanent manner.

As part of our commitment to customer choice, we offer you the option of nominating your personal physician for inclusion on the exclusive Preferred Provider list. We then do an extensive review of their bookeeping and billing methods, and providing they’re willing to submit to Spemcare’s managed fiscal recontribution arrangement, they can be listed as one of our providers within six short months.

In case of actual coverage, the following restrictions will be applied.

Limited benefits

Benefits are always limited, even when specified otherwise. Normally covered services deemed avoidable, popular, or of excessively high quality may be de-listed at any time. Out-of-Wallet maximums are for comparison puposes only.

Government regulations

Any services for which required governmental approval has not been granted at the time the service is provided, including services which are investigational, experimental, or of last resort, are only available at our Matamorros, Mexico, facility, where additional charges, policies and liens may be incurred.

Non-covered services and complications

All related expenses, medical, funereal, travel, and those resulting from care for non-covered services are excluded, including complications resulting directly from a covered or non-covered service. When a non-covered procedure is performed as part of the same operation or process as a covered service, treatment may cease immediately pending cash payment.

Definition of pre-existing condition

A pre-existing condition is a condition occurring or present in the six-month period prior to a Plan member’s enrollment date of coverage for which medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment (including prescription or over the counter drugs) was either received or recommended by a health care provider for the member, member’s spouse, or any family member of the member.

Pre-Existing Condition Waiting Period

This waiting period may be extended indefinitely as long as any pre-existing conditions continue to exist.
