The sole remaining chapter of the Brotherhood of Idler Arm and Pulley Workers (local 138, Otisburg) formally renewed its contract with Safety-Flo this April. As stipulated in the original 1918 contract, the agreement renews itself automatically each year. Due to gaps in company recordkeeping, it is not known who the local IA and P representative is, or whether any members continue to work at the company. A fact-finding mission dispatched in 1990 to determine what an idler arm is came up empty-handed.

The IA and P is the only union currently represented on the Safety-Flo campus.
